We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who have a good sense of humour coupled with excellent communication skills. A willingness to work hard and be a team player is very important to us. As a member of Bird Staff you must be prepared to liaise and work closely with all centre staff and volunteers.

The husbandry and cleanliness of the centre is a priority and a major part of the job.  As a team player you must be prepared to work with both staff and volunteers in these tasks. The position is physically demanding.  DIY skills would be beneficial but not essential. Experience in working with and training birds of prey is desirable for the role, although for the right candidate training from the basics will be given.

The position is 40 hours a week over 5 days including weekends and bank holidays with time off in lieu. Some out of normal hours working is required for owl evenings and other events – which you will receive overtime payment for. These hours are subject to change over the year and applicants need to be flexible in their approach. Days off are likely to be in the week.

Further Educational qualifications are an advantage at any level, GCSE’s or equivalent in English, Maths and Science are essential.

A Full UK driving licence is essential.

We are potentially looking a full time permanent team member with an initial 6 months probationary period, and/or a seasonal member of the team April to October.

Short listed applicants will be expected to attend an interview and a work day over two days as part of the selection process.

To apply please send your full and up-to-date CV with a covering letter, highlighting your skills and attributes, stating why you would like to join our dynamic team of bird staff to hr@icbp.org
