2009, Yorkshire Wildlife Park has evolved to become the UK’s number 1 on-foot
safari. A dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, we feature walkthrough
exhibits that take the guest directly into the world of the animals. With a 5-year
masterplan in place, the park is set to expand creating more ground-breaking
animal reserves as part of a multimillion pound, unique and innovative
development.
An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our innovative
and expanding hoofstock team. The successful candidate will be responsible for
the daily leadership and management of the hoofstock section. You will lead the
hoofstock team to deliver engaging and informative talks on our hoofstock
species, facilitate a memorable and exciting experience for our guests and
ensure the best possible husbandry, health and welfare standards for the
section.
The successful
candidate will hold a Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals
(DMZAA) or a degree level qualification in an animal related subject area as a
minimum. In addition, they will demonstrate comprehensive experience working
within a zoological collection, specifically working with black rhino and
okapi. The Hoofstock Section Team Leader will have a flexible approach to work
and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
This is a full time,
permanent position which will include weekend and bank holiday work.
