Zoological & Botanical Curator

Zoological & Botanical Curator

ARTIS

The zoological and botanical department is responsible for all that lives in ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo; the animals, the trees and plants. As zoological and botanical curator you will manage the team leads who are responsible for the teams of zookeepers, botanists, veterinary and general staff, and for the distribution center. As manager you inspire and encourage the personal development of your staff to realize the goals of the department. The total number of employees of the department consists of approx. 60 FTE.

As zoological and botanical curator you are responsible for managing the animal-, plant and tree collections. You will bring ARTIS to a higher level together with your team, general management and by leveraging the knowledge- and experience of other zoos, aquaria and botanical gardens. Of course always with a focus on animal welfare, conservation and education of a future proof ARTIS.
