Animal Management and Education Centre Manager

The College is seeking to appoint an Animal Management and Education Centre Manager to manage and develop the College’s highly successful zoo licensed and BIAZA accredited Animal Management Centre.
You will be responsible for the management of our team of Animal Technicians, Education Officer and all of the animals housed in AMC. The Centre consists of a zoo courtyard, nocturnal room, small mammal section, livestock area, kennel facility and exotics house. The key responsibilities of the role include providing a high quality, professional, customer focused Animal and Education Centre facility, supporting the strategic and operational needs of the College. You will also be responsible for ensuring high standards of animal husbandry and welfare are met at all times.
You will have proven knowledge and experience of working with, and managing a range of animal species and a proven record of managing, developing and motivating a team. It is essential that you have a forward thinking and progressive approach to animal husbandry and experience in developing resources for both educational and commercial use.
An important element of the role is ensuring that the student and visitor experience is both positive and rewarding. To meet this aim it is essential the post holder has a clear commitment to providing high quality education/support to all stakeholders.
