With over 20 marine displays, interactive rock pools, otters, penguins and a breathtaking walkthrough ocean tank, it’s an attraction in its own right and a huge part of a great day out. As our Aquarist Team Leader, you’ll train and supervise Aquarists and Presenters, making sure we continue the mesmerising SEA LIFE experience. Whether you’re supporting animal husbandry and welfare, maintaining the quality of our displays or creating a stimulating and educational environment, you’ll be on-hand to see that everything runs smoothly. You’ll also oversee the more practical aspects of the centre, like producing the annual stock request, updating PR on any useable facts, identifying ways to increase revenue and engaging with our guests.

Who we’re looking for

While you’ll ideally be degree qualified in Marine Biology or a related subject, solid practical experience is essential. You might have worked your way up through a public aquarium over the years, preferably to a supervisory role, or you might have taken up a position direct from University. What matters most however is that you’ve got a sound understanding of life support systems for both marine and freshwater species. You’ll also be a Padi advanced open water diver, with knowledge of aquatic plants and underwater systems. On a more personal level, great communicators, innovative thinkers and those with a flexible approach will really thrive in this fast-paced, active and friendly family environment.
