MYCAT is looking for a motivated individual to join the MYCAT Secretariat's Office.



Requirements:
1. Malaysian citizen

2. Interest in wildlife conservation

3. Good interpersonal communication skills

4. Degree holder

5. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, etc)

6. Proficiency in English and one other language

7. Team player, creative, responsible and organized

8. Previous experience (including volunteer and internship experience) in conservation is an advantage



Responsibilities:
1. Outreach and awareness

2. To assist in coordinating roadshow events

3. To assist in coordinating school outreach programmes

4. To assist in coordinating Year of the Tiger events, including International Tiger Day

5. To assist in recruiting and training volunteers



2. Communications

a. To maintain the MYCAT website, e-group and Facebook page

b. To assist in maintaining communication with MYCAT partners and other stakeholders

c. To assist with media communications

d. To assist with corporate donor liaison

e. To assist in producing publications



3. General administrative support

A To handle the sale of merchandise

B To assist in handling daily office operations

C To maintain a database on donors, media and volunteers



Duration
Full-time contractual position for 1 January 2010 - 31 December 2010 with possibility of renewal

The Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT) is the joint programme of the Malaysian Nature Society, TRAFFIC Southeast Asia, Wildlife Conservation Society - Malaysia Programme and WWF-Malaysia, supported by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia for joint implementation of the National Tiger Action Plan for Malaysia.
