Responsibilities: Combe Martin’s Sea Lion Department are offering an exciting and engaging internship for those individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the marine mammal training field.
This internship experience will provide the opportunity to work very closely with Californian Sea Lions and African Penguins, gaining first hand experience by assisting with daily Sea Lion husbandry, training sessions, pool maintenance and other related duties.
Where appropriate, interns may take part in Marine Conservation Society fund-raisers, sea lion interactions, presentations and assisting with public swim sessions.
Requirements: Successful candidates should posses a positive attitude, good communication, observation and organisational skills and the ability to accept direction, work well with others as part of a team and have an interest and general knowledge in marine life and conservation.
Candidates must commit to at least 24 hours per week over 6-12 months, including weekends and bank holidays. Occasional overtime may be required.
