Aquarist at Hastings Aquarium
Blue Reef Aquarium Hastings is looking to recruit an experienced aquarist.
The aquarium is part of Deep Sea Leisure plc which has 6 other aquarium visitor attractions in the group. Our displays include animals from the British coastline to tropical reefs. At the heart of the aquarium is a large Ocean tank with a walk through underwater tunnel
You will be responsible for delivering the day to day animal husbandry and work with the Displays Supervisor to ensure the displays are presented to the highest standard.
You will be responsible for and ensure routine maintenance of life support systems and water quality.
You will maintain clean, tidy and ensure safe standards of all plant rooms, tool rooms, laboratories and quarantine facilities
The successful candidate will be expected to be very personable and able to communicate well with the visitors, including delivering public talks and run education sessions.
The successful candidate will also be enthusiastic, a good team player, passionate about marine life and able to inspire others.
