CONSERVATION MANAGER
Wellington Zoo
exists to help people find their personal connection with nature. At the heart
of these connections is the conservation and environmental sustainability work
we do, both at the Zoo and with programmes we support in the wild. We are
looking for a passionate, motivated Conservation Manager, in a newly
established role, to ensure our Zoo builds its reputation and capability in
conservation and sustainability.
As this role is
primarily about engaging others, the successful candidate will need to have
excellent relationship management skills and a proven ability to motivate
others to follow your vision. We are looking for someone with:
a passion for nature
a practical
understanding of conservation and sustainability both locally and globally
understanding of the
role of conservation in a modern zoo
experience in
delivering conservation programmes
understanding of and
commitment to the World Zoo and Aquarium Conservation Strategy
a relevant tertiary
qualification or equivalent experience
