Conservation Campaign Manager

Conservation Campaign Manager
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Fixed Term until 31st December 2014
Salary £20,000 - £21,000 per annum

We are looking for creative and enthusiastic Conservation Campaign Manager, to deliver projects encouraging our visitors to carry out wildlife-friendly behaviours. Their primary responsibility will be to independently research, develop, coordinate and evaluate an annual behaviour-change campaign, and to publish the results in peer-reviewed journals.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships with all departments plus external stakeholders. Organisational skills are essential, with some experience in the management of staff, volunteers and budgets. The successful candidate must also be confident in the application of social science methods, survey design and analysis (using programmes such as SPSS), and ideally a publication record.

This is a major new area for this organisation, and will influence many of our current activities and ways we communicate with our visitors.  Therefore the successful candidate will need to understand the process of influencing many aspects of the zoo’s daily operation, to ensure that the campaign has maximum impact.
Please visit our web site www.bristolzoo.org.uk for more information and a copy of the job description and person specification.
To apply, please send a full CV and a covering letter (2 sides of A4 maximum) to: Sarah Eason, HR Department, Bristol Zoo Gardens, Clifton, Bristol BS8 3HA, or email hr@bristolzoo.org.uk.  The covering letter should include an explanation of how you meet the person specification; your experience in behaviour-change programmes; relevant research history; and experience of coordinating a project involving many stakeholders. Please mark your application ‘CCM Application’.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 25th March 2014 at 12pm.  Interviews will be held on Thursday 3rd April, and we would like the successful applicant to start on Monday 28th April 2014.

Due to the expected volume of applications we will only be contacting those shortlisted for interview.
