We are going through an exciting period of change as this zoo develops and so are looking for dynamic, knowledgeable individuals to help lead the teams forward.

We are seeking a high performing, enthusiastic individual with a proven track record of working with and training elephants in a protected contact system, with good experience of managing and administering elephant foot care.  Experience of managing an elephant calf would also be desirable.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience is essential for this role, with some of this time having been spent supervising other staff.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a substantial working knowledge of the natural history and management of key species on the section.  You must be a good team worker with a positive outlook and excellent communication skills and committed to continued professional development of yourself and other staff.  An animal-related qualification, such as the BIAZA approved ANCMZA or DZMAA, would be advantageous.

The role is full time, including weekend duties on a rota system. Salary is paid monthly and we provide uniform and 31 days holiday per annum.
