Bird Keeper
An exciting position has become available for the
post of Bird Keeper at Newquay Zoo. The
post requires a hardworking, dedicated, enthusiastic and reliable individual,
who will be expected to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, and
be committed to the stimulating development of the expanding bird section and
zoo.
The ideal candidate should possess at least 4 years
bird keeping experience and will have preferably completed, and passed, the Diploma
in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals.
Duties will include attending to the husbandry
requirements of a variety of different bird species, as directed by a Senior
Keeper or the Head Keeper. Daily observations
of individual birds, completion of relevant records, and having the ability to
answer visitors’ questions as required, in a courteous and informative manner,
are fundamental for this position.
