Animal Keeper –

The Department of
Animal Welfare & Conservation is currently recruiting for a reliable,
confident team member to join them on a seasonal contract through to November
2014.
Based on the ‘Animal
Encounters’ section, you will be working as part of the successful Animal &
Welfare team responsible for maintaining a safe environment for both you and
the public by adhering to associated risk assessments and protocols without exception.
You will be expected
to practice high levels of animal husbandry and assist in the welfare of the
animals within the park. As well as ensuring the visitor experience is
exceptional by delivering excellent customer service at all times.
The successful
applicant should demonstrate a passion for Animal Welfare & Conservation,
be highly motivated, flexible and committed to Woburn Safari Park’s high
standards of husbandry and welfare. Candidates must have previous “hands on”
practical experience of working with a range of animals and an animal related
qualification i.e. Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals.
Preference will be
given to applicants that have worked and/or volunteered within the following
fields: Zoo’s, Safari Park’s, Farming/Agriculture & Equestrian.
As an essential
requirement for this role, successful candidates should possess excellent
communication skills, demonstrable experience of dealing with the public,
together with the ability to work effectively within a team.
