Zoo
Zoos SA is a
not-for-profit conservation charity that exists to save species from extinction
and connect people with nature. We
provide conservation education, as well as supporting and conducting many
conservation, breeding and research programs. As part of our conservation
efforts we run Adelaide and Monarto Zoos.
As part of assisting
our staff development program, we have created three new trainee keeper roles
over its two sites. These roles will be required to work on average a minimum
of 20 hours per week over a 7 day roster.
The duties of this
role will include completing daily keeping duties and husbandry for a range of
zoo animals under close supervision and within clearly defined procedures and
established policies.
Applicants will be
required to have
conservation
awareness
the ability to
deliver informative public presentations
the ability to work
within a variety of teams
excellent
communication skills
basic maintenance
skills
As this is a trainee
role you will be provided with full on-the-job training, but some experience in
the animal field would be advantageous for applicants
