Senior Keeper
The AWCP, Gibraltar
are looking for an experienced Senior Keeper to assist in overseeing and
supervising the day to day running of the wildlife park. With ‘hands-on’
operational duties, you will support and assist the animal keeping team
ensuring best practice, compliance with Health and Safety regulations and a
consistent and continuous performance to improve the overall animal management
standards.
We are looking for
someone to be a positive role model to others through demonstrated behaviours.
You will need to be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload and have
excellent problem solving skills.
You will be part of
the Park's Senior Management Team where not only will you assist and deputise
for the Park Manager but will also have a very active role in developing and
moving the animal department forward with its current aims and future objectives.
The AWCP has
undergone extensive renovation work in recent years. It is undergoing
consistent improvements in all aspects of animal husbandry, education, staff
training and development, research and conservation. We are looking for a
driven, hard working, physically fit, enthusiastic and reliable individual to
help us to drive these changes forward and achieve our Master Plan goals.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years
zoo keeping experience, plus proven people management skills, are essential.
DMZAA qualified.
ARKS 4 or ZIMMS
experience preferable.
Excellent
communicational skills.
Some experience and
skill with General maintenance.
