SENIOR PRIMATE
KEEPER
An opportunity has
arisen for a Senior Primate Keeper to join the team at Newquay Zoo. The post requires a hardworking, dedicated,
enthusiastic and reliable individual to oversee and contribute to the day to
day running of this varied section.
The ideal candidate
will possess the aptitude to implement, update and improve the current
management techniques for nutrition and enrichment and behavioural training of
this taxa. In addition, they will assist
in the future development of the section and be involved with in house staff
training.
The section
currently houses 12 species of primates consisting of 55 individuals including
Callitrichids, Prosimians and Old and New World Primates.
A minimum of 4 years
experience is required, and preferably within a BIAZA/EAZA recognised
institution. The ideal candidate will
have also attained the Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals
(DMZAA).
