Animal carer
positions
Isle of Wight Zoo
We are currently
recruiting two Animal Carers to join our team at the Isle of Wight Zoo.
The first position is a full time permanent
position (subject to a trial period) working a 5 day week from Sunday until
Thursday. An interest in reptiles, big
cats and primates is essential. Previous
experience preferred, but will consider recently qualified applicants.
The second position
is a permanent cover position (subject to a trial period) working Fridays,
Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
Previous experience preferred, but will consider recently qualified
applicants.
Animal Carers are
responsible for maintaining high standards of husbandry and care for the
animals assigned to them. Animal Carers
are expected to follow set husbandry standards and are expected to be involved
in all aspects of care for animals including enrichment, training, weighing of
animals along with their normal duties.
Excellent communication skills are required in order to contribute
towards our education programme.
A current driving
license will be an advantage.
