Description
The International
Primate Protection League (IPPL), a non-profit organization that is dedicated
to the preservation and protection of the world’s primates, is seeking an
experienced individual for the position of Executive Director. Since 1973, the
organization has worked to expose primate abuse and battle international
wildlife traffickers. IPPL operates a sanctuary for gibbons in South Carolina
and supports primate rescue efforts on a global basis.
The new Executive
Director will be trained and mentored by Dr. Shirley McGreal, IPPL
Founder/President, who is internationally renowned in the world of primate
protection and has been honored by Queen Elizabeth II and the United Nations
for her work in conservation.
Candidates must be
willing to embrace and support an existing culture and be prepared to travel
abroad. It’s critical that anyone considered has empathy with animals and
knowledge of and passion for animal advocacy along with nonprofit fundraising
& operations management experience. A college degree or commensurate
experience is required, and French and/or Spanish language competency is
desirable.

Requirements
IPPL is looking for
an individual with extensive experience in primatology or a related area, to
join the team and help solidify IPPL’s vision for the future by partnering to
help lead IPPL in continuing its mission of protecting primates worldwide.
The selected
individual could reside remotely but preferably be based in a major geographic
center of influence.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to, developing and managing primate protection
campaigns, prospect research and fundraising, campaign strategy development,
grant writing, corporate relationship and partnership building, public speaking
& social marketing campaign development.
To be considered, a
candidate must be able to exhibit a proven commitment to the protection of
primates worldwide and experience in either primatology or a related area,
successful experience growing a nonprofit organization, minimum 10 years
leadership experience, outstanding written and verbal communication skills,
public relations, project development and fundraising experience.
