The Lakes Aquarium is seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active Curator to join the team.

Firmly established as one of the Lake District’s most popular visitor attractions, The Lakes Aquarium is home to a diverse range of creatures - from catfish and otters, to starfish and ducks!

Leading a small team, the Curator is responsible for the development, production and maintenance of all displays, providing the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry at all times. This includes ensuring all zoo licence regulations and BIAZA guidelines are adhered to and that related administration duties are fulfilled.

The ideal candidate will have several years' experience of working with a wide variety of creatures and systems as well as staff supervision. A proven track record in public aquaria is desirable along with an organised, structured approach and can-do outlook. Relevant qualifications and project management experience are an advantage.

A salary of £23,000 is offered, along with a 15% performance related bonus, company pension scheme and life assurance.
