Twycross Zoo is an award winning zoo and visitor attraction based in rural south Leicestershire and is currently delivering on a £55 million Masterplan, which will transform the zoo over the next 20 years. We have already opened two major new habitats since the launch of the Masterplan in
March 2015, including Giraffe Savannah and the moated island complex Gibbon Forrest and have exciting plans for developing the Zoo and growing all areas of our charity.

We currently have two vacancies for Education Officers within our Education Department.

Key Responsibilities
· To prepare and deliver talks for groups of students from pre-school age up to
undergraduate level
· To produce educational material for the Zoo
· Attend exhibitions
· Market the Zoo’s educational services
· Deal with enquiries and queries from the public and visitors

Key Skills & Requirements
· To have a degree (or equivalent level qualification) in a Zoo-related subject
· To hold a teaching qualification or have significant teaching experience
· Excellent presentation skills are essential along with an outgoing and confident personality
· Experience in handling small animals (mammals and exotics) would be preferred

We have one permanent contract and one temporary contract that is expected to last until December 2017. Both roles are full time positions (working on average 5 days out of 7) and includes weekend duties on a rota system. Salary is paid monthly, 31 days paid holiday per annum.
