An exciting
opportunity has arisen to join the keeper team.
We’re looking for an
outgoing, friendly person, full of energy with a willingness to learn, to join
our keeper team, covering 12 months maternity leave commencing
September/October 2017. You’ll be working predominantly on the bird and Folly
Interactive sections of the zoo however will receive training with a range of
species across a variety of sections. You’ll have responsibility for all
aspects of animal care, including daily cleaning and feeding regimes, upkeep of
animal records and maintenance of hygiene, working to strict safety protocols
and standard operation procedures.
With a mission to
exceed guest expectations and work towards the future, you’ll also help to
create magical moments for our guests to treasure by delivering feeding
experiences and daily talks.
A full driving
licence is essential, with experience of agricultural vehicles also
advantageous. Qualifications to degree level in zoology or a related subject,
and/or currently undertaking such studies are desirable. You’ll also need to
have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with strong communication and team work
skills.
Must be flexible in
your working hours and willing to work weekends / bank holidays.
