Woburn Safari Park
Located in the
picturesque village of Woburn, Bedfordshire; Woburn Safari Park is home to some
of the world’s most magnificent and endangered animals. Today it forms part of the Bedford Estates,
which also includes Woburn Abbey, Woburn Golf Club and The Woburn Hotel.
The Reserves area at
Woburn Safari Park comprises of many different species including: Rothschild
Giraffe, White Rhino, Antelope and Bongo. Set in the road safari area of the
park this department entertains all customers to Woburn via a large drive through
area.
As Deputy Head of
Section, you will support and deputise for the Head of Section. Your role will
be to assist with the management of a passionate and experienced team of Animal
Keepers, ensuring that safe and efficient animal husbandry is practised at all
times.
You must have a
proven track record of managing people and have animal experience preferably
within a Zoo/Safari Park environment. Experience of working with hoofed stock
and good working knowledge of primates is desirable. A relevant animal qualification, such as a
degree or the animal management diploma, along with a full clean driving
licence is essential for this role. In addition, you will hold a current fire
arms certificate or be willing to learn.
Woburn Safari Park's
animal department is committed to both conservation and welfare and is
fortunate to have the space in which these goals can be best met. Potential
staff must share this commitment.
This position will
require you to work 5 days out of 7 and will include weekend and Bank Holiday
working.
