Colchester Zoo
Colchester Zoo is
seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual with a background in
animal training to join its dedicated team of staff. You will be working in a
team of four and reporting directly to the line manager. The section is
responsible for but not limited to the daily management of exhibits, animal
husbandry and care and the presentation of public displays for our sealion and
penguin exhibits. Having prior experience working with penguins and sealions
and possessing a competent understanding of LSS is required for this position.
It will be advantageous to the successful applicant to have proven staff
supervisory experience.
The ideal applicant
will have a proven record of working in a recognised zoological institution and
have excellent communication and presentation skills. It is expected that you
will have been awarded the DMZAA or equivalent. However, due consideration will
be given to the applicants own level of academic achievement combined with
zoological experience in the absence of an awarded of the aforementioned
diploma.
This is a full time
position working 40 hours per week and applicants are expected to work to a
flexible rota as necessary to include weekends and public holidays.
