Technician – Herptiles and Invertebrates Section

SPARSHOLT COLLEGE HAMPSHIRE

Technician – Herptiles and Invertebrates Section, Animal Management Centre
£15,075 - £18,290 (Dependent upon qualifications and experience)

The post holder will work under the direction of the AMC Exotics Head in undertaking the management, husbandry and development of the significant teaching collections of herptiles and invertebrates, totaling over 100 species. These include many species of conservation importance, for which the AMC participates in breeding programs. The Section has achieved many notable breeding successes (e.g. Emerald Tree Monitor), and helps develop husbandry protocols (e.g. Kaiser’s Newt).

A flexible approach to a varied workload, real enthusiasm for the animals you work with, and an affinity for working with young learners are required. Some educational or supervisory experience would be advantageous. The post holder will be required to work weekends on a rotational basis.
