Keeper
Colchester Zoo
Colchester Zoo is
seeking an experienced and highly motivated animal keeper to join its carnivore
department. You will be working in a team of five keepers, reporting to the
Head of Section.
This section is
responsible for the daily management and husbandry or our large carnivores
(lions, leopards, bears) and as such the successful candidate will be
responsible for but not limited to; cleaning of exhibits, feeding and general
care and welfare of the animals and associated tasks. Experience in public
speaking and visitor engagements will be advantageous.
The ideal candidate
will have work for a minimum of two years in an accredited zoological
institution and have experience of working with large carnivores. It is
expected that you will have been awarded a diploma in zoo animal management,
however, consideration will be given to the individuals own level of zoological
experience and academic achievement.
The candidate will
have a clean full UK drivers licence.
