The Lake
District Wildlife Park is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated,
dedicated team player to join our keeper team. The Park houses a large range of
exotic animals and domestic stock. We are proud to manage our wider estate with
HLS Stewardship programmes and manage our land with conservation in mind. We
are looking for someone who is passionate about wildlife conservation and wants
to share this enthusiasm with people. The role includes the day to day
husbandry and care of a variety of animal species, presenting talks, providing
animal encounters and regular interaction with our visitors.
We are
looking for someone with:
·
3 years min experience of working in an animal related environment.
·
A broad range of experience of animal husbandry including birds, reptiles,
primates and ungulates.
·
The ability to work alone and as part of a team
·
The ability to work under pressure
·
Excellent customer service skills
·
Good organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
·
Maintenance and enclosure refurbishment skills
·
Initiative to continually strive towards improving the Park
We would
prefer someone who holds the DMZAA or equivalent,
If not a
willingness to work towards this qualification.
