We currently
have a position available for a Trainee Zoo Keeper.
The
successful candidate will assist in caring for a variety of exotic species.
They will work to a high standard under the direction of the Head Keeper.
Working with animals can be often very routine and can be physically demanding,
this positions involves working a five day 40hr week including weekends and
bank holidays, hours are between 8am and 6pm in the Summer and 8am and 5pm in
the Winter. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for domestic and /
or exotic animals and an animal care qualification would be advantageous, full
in house zoo keeper training will be given, candidates will be expected to
demonstrate a keen interest in zoo animal husbandry. Salary is currently the
National Minimum wage depending on your age – You must be over 16 years old to
apply. And must be available to start in July.
