Job Title: Senior Aquarist
Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Term: Full Time-Immediate Start
The Role:
Based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, you will
be a key member of the team responsible for upkeep and maintenance of
Issham Aquatics iconic flagship
project, the Jeddah
Airport Aquarium.
Working alongside the Aquarium Curator,
LSS Technical Team and Dive Team, the Senior Aquarist shall be responsible for carrying out and supervising daily
animal husbandry and maintenance activities to the
highest standard as part of our
ongoing operation and maintenance program.
Duties include:

Responsible
for all aspects of animal care & management, diet preparation, behaviour observations and animal training/enrichment.
·
Liaise directly
with Curator and directly supervise
Aquarists, LSS Technicians and Divers.
·
Oversee the operation and maintenance of Aquarium LSS systems.
·
Maintain
accurate and up to date records relating to fish husbandry, LSS maintenance and Dive Operations
in line with company and international standards.
·
Coordinate
fish shipments, transfers alongside performing Quarantine, Disease Diagnosis follow
appropriate treatment protocols.
·
Follow and abide by established Safety
Protocols across the site.
·
Assist
in creating and managing Annual budgets.
Role Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s Degree
in marine biology or equivalent.
·
Minimum 2 Years working
in Public Aquariums
or aquaculture facilities.
·
Extensive
experience in animal husbandry, specifically tropical marine species and elasmobranchs.
·
Technical knowledge of Aquatic Life Support and related systems.
·
Excellent observation, organisational, record keeping
& communication skills.
·
Ability
to bending/stoop, Squat, Crawl, Crouch, Kneel, Balance, Climb, Carry and lift
to 30kg.
·
Ability to pass
and maintain an occupational medical.
·
Diving Qualifications, Padi Divemaster or Equivalent (Preferred)
·
Driving Licence,
First Aid Trained.
(Preferred)
