Experience Animal Carer - Giraffe, Rhino & Hoofstock

Cumbria Zoo are looking for the successful candidate to perform all duties in an effective, consistent running of the Africa Section to a high standard of animal welfare, husbandry and visitor experience.

You will be expected to;

-Ensure animal welfare, husbandry and management is of the highest standard, taking into account relevant legislation.
-Record and collate detailed and accurate animal records.
-Contribute to the animal collection development.
-Develop yourself through appropriate learning and development activities.
-Contribute to the education and research development of the section – this includes visitor talks, educational sessions and social media presentations.

-You are expected to have working in a zoo environment, specifically Giraffes, Rhinos & Hoofstock for approx.. 3 years and hold the DMZAA qualification or equivalent.
-Have good communication skills and a full understanding in modern zoo animal management, this would include animal enrichment and training.

**Only experienced applicants will be considered.
-Full UK Driving Licence
-DBS Certificate

In return we offer: Pay can be negotiated with experience and guaranteed hours, a contributory pension, 28 days paid holiday including bank holidays (pro-rata).
