We have a
full time opening to join a small team in our expanding zoological collection
with a focus on small/medium animals, 5 days a week which will include one
weekend day.
This
position is for someone with relevant qualifications and at least 1 year of
full-time paid work in a licensed zoo.
Being a
small close-knit team, the successful applicant will be expected to work across
all sections and maintain high levels of animal welfare and husbandry and have
good communication skills and time management.
Daily
tasks will include:
· Daily/routine animal husbandry
· Have the confidence to deliver talks
and encounters to our visitors
· Keep daily records via animal
husbandry software
· Preparing enrichment activities
· House keeping of both behind the
scenes areas as well as public areas and assisting in H&S protocols
· Assisting in-house vet nurse in basic
routine medical procedures
Applicants
will require:
· Full time paid zoo experience of 1
year+
· Minimum level 3 animal related
qualification
· Driving license essential
