Collections Manager – Aviculture

37.5 hours per week
to be worked on a rota basis to include weekends, bank holidays and evenings in
line with business requirements.
Salary: £26,095
(possible on-site accommodation provided)
Slimbridge Wetland
Centre is evolving and growing. We have a fantastic opportunity for the right
candidate to curate and breed our renowned collection of over 2,500 water
birds, and lead a dedicated team of aviculturists.
To be successful you
must clearly demonstrate leadership qualities and have previous evidence of
developing animal care teams at a well-respected animal institution. You will
be highly motivated, energetic and approachable and have a good knowledge of water
bird management and their environmental requirements.
You will work
closely with other departments to drive operational improvements across the
site and achieve an amazing, surprising, inspiring and engaging visitor
experience. The successful candidate will also support WWT’s visitor engagement
strategy and specific centre objectives.
