Two positions have become available for Horticulture Wardens, working within the grounds of Twycross Zoo.


Successful applicants will ensure that horticulture work is carried out to the highest standard by maintaining a designated area of the Zoo. The work will include cultivation, planting, pruning, mowing and strimming. An essential part of the role will be to motivate and manage volunteers in this area. You will also assist with recycling and other maintenance work as required.


Previous gardening experience, with a particular emphasis on tree, shrub and herbaceous cultivation and care is essential, as is a full driving licence. Experience of operating hand mowers, cutters, strimmers and chainsaws is desirable. It would also be advantageous to have PA1 and PA6 knapsack spraying certificates, experience of tractor and trailer driving and knowledge of small engine maintenance.


The role is full time, including weekend duties on a rota system. Salary is paid monthly and we provide uniform, 31 days holiday and 5% employer’s pension contribution after a qualifying period.
