Tropical Section Keeper
Permanent
Full Time (working 42.5 hours over 5
days a week including one weekend day and a requirement to work bank holidays)
Salary:
Negotiable dependent on experience
Tropical Wings Zoo is a small but
forward-thinking and dynamic organisation with an emphasis on interaction and
education. We are seeking a dynamic,
confident and bubbly individual to join our team of Keeper/Presenters in our
renowned Tropical House and its satellite enclosures. You should have a proven
interest in entomology, aquatics and horticulture and a particular passion for
invertebrates.
As a keen presenter you will engage visitors
about our animals, conservation and the natural world, presenting information
in a lively and interesting way to audiences and interacting with visitors
during encounters as well as undertaking the daily animal husbandry for the
resident animals in the Tropical House and the satellite enclosures.
In order to be successful in this fantastic
position you will have:

Experience of
delivering presentations in a similar capacity

Excellent
communication skills and be highly innovative, enthusiastic and motivated

Substantial
experience of animal husbandry
-
Fantastic
customer service skills
-
The
willingness and ability to learn a vast amount of information about our animals

An animal
related qualification is required

Adaptable to
different working environments
