Qualified Keeper
Peak Wildlife Park
Working as a Qualified Keeper at Peak Wildlife Park, you’ll be
hands on work- ing with a whole host
of different animal species from penguins to zebra and everything in between.
The role is a diverse
one, covering all aspects of anim- al husbandry, behaviour monitoring and
record keeping as well as presenting talks
and leading our animal experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Working with a diverse range of animals,
covering all areas of animal
husbandry
·
Engaging with members of the public and carrying out
one-to-one ani- mal experiences
·
Delivering talks and presentations
·
Record Keeping
·
Routine maintenance and cleaning of animal enclosures.
·
Assisting with the preparation of approved diets and carrying out
the correct feeding procedures
·
Administering medication
·
Ensuring that safety and emergency procedures are followed at all times
Key Skills & Requirements:
·
2 year’s experience working as an animal keeper as
part of a zoological collection.
·
Enthusiastic and
highly motivated.
·
Positive attitude towards personal growth & an
excellent knowledge of animal
husbandry
·
Team player with exceptional communication skills.
·
Diploma in the Management of Zoo Animals
and Aquaria (DMZAA)
or similar, relevant
qualification
·
Full UK
driving license
·
Experience working with category one animals, especially large
carni- vores (desirable)
·
Firearms License
(desirable)
This is a full-time
position working 40 hours per week.
Pay will be dependent on
experience and will include other company
benefits.
