Experienced Animal
Keeper
Anna’s Welsh Zoo has
a vacancy for two experienced keepers to join their dedicated team in an
exciting and rapidly developing collection, working on all sections of the zoo.
These are full time positions working 5 days out of 7 on a rotational basis.
The ideal applicant
will have worked for at least 2 years in a recognised zoological collection:
experience of working with large ungulates and Sumatran tigers would be
beneficial however this is not essential to the role. Applicants would have
ideally been awarded the DMZAA or equivalent but relevant experience will be
taken in to consideration. Good communication skills are essential as you will
be expected to deliver a variety of keeper talks and engage with visitors. A
firearms licence is desirable and you will require a clean UK driver’s license.
The responsibilities
of this role will include cleaning, feeding and the provision of general care
for the animals and their exhibits, as well as ‘natural’ enrichment items and
enclosure furnishings. You will be working
as part of a team and on your own as required.
