Senior Animal Keeper
Colchester Zoo
Colchester Zoo is seeking an experienced and highly
motivated animal keeper to join its primate department.
This section is responsible for the daily management
and husbandry or our great apes, mangabeys, lemurs and cebids and as such the
successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to; cleaning of
exhibits, feeding and general care and welfare of the animals and associated
tasks. Experience in public speaking and visitor engagements will
be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have worked for a minimum of
three years in an accredited zoological institution and have experience of
working with great apes. Proven ability within a staff supervisory capacity is
also highly desirable. It is expected that you will have been awarded a
diploma in zoo animal management, however, due consideration will be given to
the individuals own level of zoological experience and academic achievement.
The candidate will have a clean full UK drivers
licence.
