This is an opportunity to join the Life Sciences team and be part of an organization that is proud of its contribution to the conservation of species and their habitats in New Zealand and abroad.
The Ectotherm Keeper works as part of a team responsible for the daily husbandry and management of a diverse range of native reptiles, frogs, fish and invertebrate species - including tuatara, Otago and chevron skinks, Archey's frog, long-fin eels and giant weta - as well as exotic species such as American alligators, Galapagos tortoises, Australian lizards and bird-eating spiders. 
He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•    A recognised qualification in captive animal management and/or tertiary qualification in zoology/biology
•    Experience with innovative husbandry and management for a range of reptile and other relevant species
•    High attention to detail
•    Strong organisational skills and a keen desire to learn
•    Driver's licence 
Auckland Zoo has an extensive field conservation programme, so the successful candidate may be expected to spend time working on conservation projects in the field. An interest in and aptitude for fieldwork is therefore essential and prior relevant experience would be an advantage.
Public speaking is part of every keeper's role, so we are also looking for a confident communicator who can demonstrate their passion for wildlife and inspire visitors through informal talks and animal encounters.
