Trainee Keeper – Birds, Primates and Small Mammals

Trainee Keeper – Birds, Primates and Small Mammals

Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Keeper to join the Bird, Primate and Small Mammal team at the Park.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in daily husbandry across seven sub-sections and will work in close cooperation with the Section Head and their team to ensure the continuous development of the section.

During this two-year fixed term contract, you will be expected to undertake research projects, nutritional studies, enrichment and all relevant aspects of work in a progressive animal collection. Public interaction, including daily talks is required, as well as assisting with our ‘Keeper for a Day’ scheme and Public Animal Encounters.

In return, we offer a competitive package, including rent-free accommodation, a full training programme and enrolment in a non-contributory pension scheme.

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given, however a relevant Animal Care Qualification would be an advantage.
