Salary Scale 5: £18,907 - £20,736 per annum (pay award pending)

Services Section

You will be responsible, either individually or as part of a team, for the general husbandry of Zoo animals including the cleaning and inherent safety of enclosures, the preparation and storage of animal food and the cleaning of animals. You will also be responsible for interacting with visitors and other Zoo users through presentations, tours, talks and events as required.

You must, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms:

¥ have a relevant qualification in an animal related discipline such as the City and Guilds Animal Management Certificate or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have at least one year's zoo keeping experience;

or

¥ be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have at least two years' zoo keeping experience.

Completed application forms must be returned to Head of Human Resources at the address below, or emailed to jobs@belfastcity.gov.uk no later than 4pm on Monday, 7 July 2008.
