Trainee Keepers - Taronga Zoo


This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join the Taronga Conservation Society Australia in the role of Keeper. These permanent full time positions will be based within Exotic Fauna Precinct and the Bird Show unit.

These entry level positions are ideal for someone who is looking to develop their keeping and animal training skills and to kick-start their career in the Zoo industry.

The successful applicants will be enrolled in, or have the ability to enroll, in Certificate III in Captive Animals (or equivalent), and will have basic knowledge or be willing to develop in the following areas:
• Captive husbandry and exhibit design;
• Animal training and conditioning practices;
• Customer service ethos;
• Presentation and communication skills;
Candidates will need to hold a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence and hold, or have the ability to gain, a Class A&B Firearms Licence.
