week including weekends and bank hols
The Lake District
Wildlife Park is situated within the Lake District national park 8 miles north
of Keswick.
We are an open
spacious animal collection on the 400acre Armathwaite Hall estate housing over
100 species of exotic and rare breed domestic animals, As a BIAZA member we
work with many EEP species and support several conservation organisations both
local and international.
Our aim is to
deliver a fun informative animal based visitor experience in the heart of the
Lake District allowing guests to further their understanding of the natural
world around us
Keeper
responsibilities:
- Daily care and animal husbandry duties
- Delivery of an environmental enrichment programme
- Delivering engaging, educational and fun keeper led presentations
- Grounds and enclosure maintenance
Candidate
requirements:
- 2 yrs practical zoo/animal work
- An ability to communicate well with guests and staff
- A sound knowledge and practical ability to perform general maintenance tasks
- A sound knowledge and practical ability to carry out animal husbandry duties
- DMZAA qualification or similar qualification (experience will be considered without qualifications)
- Primate experience desirable
- Reptile experience desirable
Terms:
Fulltime 40hrs per
week including weekends and bank hols
Salary dependant on
experience
