Paignton Zoo, one of the largest in the UK and a registered scientific and education charity, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced keeper to join our Bird team.

The role involves the day to day husbandry of a large and diverse collection of birds focusing on animal welfare, bio-security, record keeping and ensuring that exhibits are maintained to the highest standards. You will be confident speaking to guests and responding to their questions. Duties will include daily observations of individual animals and completion of relevant records. Experience with ratites would be advantageous.

You will have at least 4 years’ relevant experience or have 2 years’ experience and have completed the DMZAA course or equivalent qualification.

The post is for 38.75 hours per week, which may include weekends and Bank Holidays.
