Living Collections Assistant - Presentations

WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre

37.5 hours per week working 5 days from 7 to include weekends and bank holidays

£18,745 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Slimbridge Wetland Centre to join the Presentations Team working primarily with our mammals, which is a well-established collection of specialist wetland mammals with potential for development.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic presentations team with extensive experience among them. We are looking for someone to become a flexible part of the team caring for our mammals and deliver daily otter talks and other presentations. The role will also involve working with our extensive amphibian collection and our unique wetland bird demonstrations. Experience in working with mammals is preferable but any animal experience would be valuable. A passion for educating people about the environment is a must and any experience in public experience would be welcomed.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people.  We conserve, restore and create wetlands, are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, and inspire everyone to value what healthy wetlands can achieve for people and nature.  Our ten UK sites provide exceptional access to nationally or internationally important wetland reserves, most combined with wider visitor experiences including living collections of wetland birds and animals, boat and vehicle safaris, pond dipping, natural play spaces, art galleries and trails, cafes, shops and a wide variety of programmed seasonal events and activities. Our sites attract over one million visitors every year, including day visitors and members.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

-       25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service

-       Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)

-       Life assurance

-       Free parking

-       Cycle to work scheme

-       Free entry to all our centres
