Team Leader; Natives and Children’s Zoo  

Team Leader Roles (AZ and MZ):

The Team Leaders report to the Curator, with 4 based in Adelaide (AZ) and 2 based at Monarto (MZ). Each has two Senior Keepers who report directly and a team of around ten in total. Responsible for the day to day operations of the department you will have a strong focus on leading and managing the team, providing excellent animal husbandry, promotion of exciting visitor experiences and conservation involvement and outcomes. Organisational skills and some planning experience/ability are essential to the role. We are seeking proven team players/managers who can take our husbandry programmes and visitor experiences to new heights. These are “hands on” positions that include at least three days a week on section assisting with husbandry and developing team skills and abilities. Positions vacant are:


TL2 Team Leader; Natives and Children’s Zoo (AZ)

Based at Adelaide Zoo, this new position is focussed on our native species programmes and uplifting the profile of these at Zoos SA. You will work closely with the staff at all sites to ensure a coordinated approach to Native husbandry and programmes. Our Children’s Zoo and the Envirodome and the interactive experiences provided are highlights of many visitors’ experience, delivering powerful emotive learning experiences for young and old alike. Many of the species used in ‘up close and personal’ experiences, including the Zoo Mobile, are native species.
