Dierenpark Emmen (Emmen
Zoo) is building a new adventure park. The mission statement of this new park
is: ‘Together on expedition to our adventurous, unforgettable, enriching wild
world’. This all based on our core values: guests come first, renewing and
trend setting, unique and distinctive, with respect for nature.
HEAD TRAINER m/f
(38 hours per week)
In 2016 we will open the doors of our new adventure
zoo. The park focuses on guests coming to visit our world.
A world in which guests feel welcome and in which
entertainment is part of the experience.
As head trainer, you will be responsible for entertaining
our guests and for training our animals. The head trainer works in close
cooperation with the animal team, the
entertainment manager and the director operations. The head trainer works under
direct responsibility of the manager living collection and will be managed
functionally / is an extension of the entertainment manager.
Core activities
·
Entertaining of
guests through (animal) shows.
·
Training of animals.
·
Cooperatively shaping
(animal) shows and presentations, for which ambitious aims are required.
·
Co-responsibility for
the quality of the shows, thereby taking into account the established
conditions such as entertainment value, (personnel) budget and safety.
·
Functional management
of the entertrainers team.
·
Training/leading
animal keepers in training of animals in the park as part of ‘responsible
animal handling’.
·
Care for a good
cooperation between the entertainment manager, the park division and the animal
team.

professional education level of working and thinking

You have
entertainment ‘running through your veins’
·
You have extensive
experience with animal training and keeping
·
You have
preferentially worked in a management position
·
You know how to
use your enthusiasm to stimulate your
environment

You have a degree in
animal training.
