Student Work Experience Opportunities at Jersey Zoo

Student Work Experience Opportunities at Jersey Zoo (Durrell)

Closing Date: Tuesday 31 December 2019

Durrell is delighted to be able to offer a number of work experience placements, which will give you a unique understanding of working for an international conservation organisation. A placement at Durrell will provide valuable experience to add to your CV showing future employers that you are committed to a career in the conservation sector.

There is the chance to develop your skills across a variety of departments at Durrell, including the mammal, bird, herpetology, lab & veterinary, communications & fundraising, and education departments. There is also the opportunity to complete research projects and dissertations during your placement. To see if you are suitable to apply for a placement, please view the guidelines here and click 'Student Work Experience'.

We will be taking applications from mid-September 2019 for:
- Summer placements (minimum 8 weeks) flexible starting May/June 2020 to September 2020
- Short-term placements (minimum 8 weeks) flexible starting September 2020 to May/June 2021
- Long-term placements (9-12 months) flexible starting September 2020 to August 2021

To apply please send a CV and a letter of application to gale.glendewar@durrell.org. Please indicate in your application whether you are applying for a summer, short-term or long-term placement, and your preferred department(s). Please also indicate if you are required to complete a research project during your placement. Closing date for applications will be 31st December 2019. Interviews (by Skype or phone) will take place in early January, for those that have made it through the selection process. A full uniform and a small bursary are available to all placement students to help with living costs while on placement.

If you would like further information please contact the Student Placement coordinator Gale Glendewar at gale.glendewar@durrell.org or +44 (0)1534 860042.
