Senior Veterinary Surgeon- Zoological and Conservation Medicine
(Short term)

Howletts and Port Lympne Veterinary Department is offering a 6-8 month contract in zoological and conservation medicine which will commence at the beginning of March 2020. This position would suit a clinician experienced in working with a range of mammalian zoo species in both zoo and conservation settings. The candidate will report to the Head of Veterinary Services but will need to be able to work independently and lead the team in the absence of the HVS.

Daily travel between Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Reserve will be required so a valid driving license is essential. The position may entail travel to our overseas projects so a valid passport is essential.

Working hours will be five days out of seven and some weekend work and on call.

Howletts & Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks are situated in South East Kent and work in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation as part of a charity committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction trough captive breeding and reintroduction programmes.
