(Full-Time, permanent position with a competitive salary £21,400)

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Wildlife Learning team at Blackpool Zoo as Research, Student Liaison and Education Officer.

We are looking for a proactive individual with proven people skills gained from previous research experience. As a key member of the education department, you will be able to use innovative formal and informal education to ensure Blackpool Zoo visitors benefit from an appealing learning experience that connects them with the natural world. A major component of our zoo education formula is to offer a holistic approach to teaching and learning focusing on promoting conservation and this will form an integral part of the role.

The role suits an individual who will be focused on developing and coordinating research projects, supporting young people’s career aspirations and managing work experience programmes. The Research, Student Liaison and Education Officer will serve as the principal coordinator for research and work experience alongside supporting career initiatives within the wider community.

A key member of the team you will be able to offer a holistic approach to teaching and learning alongside being the principal coordinator for research and work experience students.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level. They should also have previous experience of animal research. They will need to demonstrate excellent time management and planning skills, possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills and it is essential that they are experienced in the use of all key Microsoft packages
