Dublin Zoo holds the prestigious position of being ‘Ireland’s Number One Fee Paying Family Attraction’ having welcomed in excess of one million visitors each year.

Our purpose is to save wildlife and inspire a passion for nature – one person, one family at a time.

Dublin Zoo is currently seeking zoo professionals for the positions of ‘Zookeeper’ on a full-time basis.  Weekly hours will be 39 hours per week on average including up to 36 weekends throughout the year. 

The ideal candidates will be highly motivated and passionate about wildlife, with the skills required to communicate this passion and knowledge directly to our visitors. 

They must demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of modern zoo practices in animal husbandry, diets and environmental enrichment, as well as an understanding and knowledge of research, conservation and health and safety practices.

The successful candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with animals in a Keeper role in a Zoological Garden and/or Wildlife Park and hold a Diploma in Animal Management from Sparsholt College, or equivalent. For some of these positions, experience in great ape and/or elephant husbandry would be essential.
