Suffolk Owl Sanctuary in the UK wishes to recruit a Senior Bird Handler with falconry experience to join our team. Applicants should be passionate about raptors and actively promoting the care and conservation of wild owls and other birds of prey.
The successful applicant will have a practical knowledge of progressive modern husbandry including housing and free lofting, diet, flight training and displays, general bird health, welfare and veterinary requirements together with a full appreciation of UK Zoo Licencing essentials.
A team player with leadership, initiative, staff training and mentoring skills are important elements in a role central to our activities, whilst communication and presentation skills are pre-requisite to the high level of engagement with visitors to the centre, which is open daily throughout the year.
The pay level offered will be commensurate with skill levels and experience, and above the industry average.
